how we create your BLOK

BLOK combines two patented technologies to craft unique portraits.  The first is a 3D digitising device that operates similarly to a camera to safely capture your image without physical contact in approximately one second using patterns of ordinary white light.  These patterns allow the device to create a `contour map’ of your face.  (Note that this is only used in the 3D portrait sittings.)

The next step is to have the image crafted into the crystal.  The image is sent to a powerful industrial laser device that precisely places thousands of points in solid crystal.  The laser crafts each point by focusing sufficient energy to make a tiny crack.  It is these many thousands of cracks that faithfully recreate your image in 3D within the crystal.  BLOK Portrait spent more than a year researching the technology capable of crafting the highest possible point-density to ensure that premium quality can be consistently delivered.
